Lysine - description and instructions for use. The drug "L-lysine": instructions, pharmacology and application What products contain lysine escinate
The human body is a complex tool that is capable of not reacting in any way to pathological processes occurring inside it for a long time.
These include swelling of the brain tissue, which can lead to death without timely treatment.
In such situations, an immediate withdrawal of excess fluid present in the tissues is required, which the drug successfully copes with. L-Lysina Aescinat.
The drug is a potent drug that also has an analgesic effect. The latter is especially important, since incessant headaches and migraines are most often brought to the examination of people.
As a rule, they cannot be eliminated by conventional drugs designed to relieve such symptoms. In this situation, it is necessary to deal with the cause of the appearance of such a reaction of the body in order to avoid serious consequences.
Instructions for use
The drug L-lysine aescinat is used exclusively as prescribed by a doctor., as it is able to have a strong effect on the soft tissues of the body, penetrating into the brain and spinal cord.
It also requires competent introduction and consideration of many additional factors. This is especially true for contraindications based on existing diseases, individual sensitivity to the components of the drug. The medications used by the patient are also important.
pharmachologic effect
Escin has a lowering effect on the dynamics of lysosomal hydrolases, which ultimately helps to prevent the breakdown of mucopolysaccharides in the walls of capillaries. Similar processes occur in the surrounding connective tissues.
This leads to the normalization of vascular permeability and the removal of puffiness. At the same time, it has anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects.
Indications for use
The drug L-lysine aescinate has anti-edematous, analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties.
It is prescribed by the attending physician:
- The presence of edema of the brain or spinal cord resulting from injury or in the postoperative period. In this case, edema may be accompanied by internal hemorrhage, increased intracranial pressure and expansion due to impaired tissue fluid output;
- Disorder of cerebral circulation of a chronic nature;
- VVD, which has among the symptoms a violation of the venous outflow of blood from the brain, and is characterized by stagnation of blood;
- Edema of soft tissues, which also negatively affects the skeletal system and prevents normal blood circulation, coupled with pain;
- Acute thrombophlebitis, accompanied by edema and impaired circulation of the veins in the lower extremities;
- Edema, accompanied by pain, localized in the area of the trunk, spinal column.
Method of application, dosage
The decongestant L-lysine aescinate is used mainly by drip, always diluting with saline. Depending on the indications, the contents of the ampoule or half of it is diluted in a 0.9% sodium chloride solution. The amount of solution for injection can be from 15 to 50 ml.
If it is not possible to install a dropper, the drug can be administered intravenously, while the rate of administration should be minimal. The introduction of this drug into the arteries is prohibited.
Adults are prescribed 5-10 ml intravenously once a day in the composition with saline. In severe cases, the dose can be increased to 20 ml, while the introduction is made twice a day. The maximum permitted daily dose is 25 ml.
The drug L-Lysine Escinat is forbidden to be taken under the age of one year. For children older than the specified age, it is prescribed depending on body weight.
The following dosages are used:
These standards are intended for a one-time introduction.. During treatment, the drug is administered twice a day.
Release form, composition
The drug is available as a solution for intravenous administration.. Release form - 5 ml ampoules. The solution includes L-lysine aescinate 1 milligram per milliliter, as well as additional substances - propylene glycol, ninety-six percent alcohol, water for injection.
A carton box with contour packaging contains 10 ampoules, which is enough for one course of injections with an uncomplicated form of the disease.

Interaction with other drugs
The drug can be used simultaneously with other anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, painkillers.
Aminoglycosides are capable of exhibiting greater nephrotoxicity when combined with the drug L-lysine aescinat. Taking them at the same time is not recommended, otherwise renal intoxication is possible.
The drug L-lysine aescinat does not require the exclusion of anticoagulants if they are treated as long-term therapy. However, when taken simultaneously, the dosage of drugs that affect blood clotting should be reduced. In this case, it is required to constantly monitor the readings of the prothrombin index.
Cephalosporins reduce the ability of escin to bind to plasma protein, which can lead to a large amount of free substance in the blood cells. In the future, this leads to an overdose of L-lysine aescinat and an increase in the manifestation of its side effects.
Side effects
For side effects affects individual sensitivity to escin in certain groups of patients, which can be expressed in a simple form.
The result is a skin rash, flushing of the skin of the face, headache, tremor of the extremities, nausea, arterial hypotension or hypertension, a burning sensation at the injection site.
A more severe form of side effects is reduced to the appearance of anaphylactic shock, Quincke's edema, unsteady gait, short-term loss of consciousness, vomiting, bronchial obstruction.
The last symptoms appear in isolated cases and are not mandatory. The most common symptoms include general weakness, increased sweating, feeling hot or chills.
Overdose
Since the drug is administered exclusively on prescription, cases of overdose are practically excluded. At the same time, they manifest themselves in the form of tachycardia, fever, nausea or heartburn. Treatment in this case is symptomatic.
Contraindications
Despite the effectiveness of the drug L-Lysine Escinat and its need for use in most of these cases, it has contraindications requiring the search for alternative drugs for the treatment of patients.

Drug Interactions
In the treatment of L-lysine with aescinat, it is possible to prescribe other drugs for appropriate indications (anti-inflammatory, analgesics, antimicrobials).
The drug should not be used simultaneously with aminoglycosides due to the possibility of increasing their nephrotoxicity. In the case of long-term anticoagulant therapy, which was carried out before the appointment of L-lysine aescinate, or if it is necessary to simultaneously use L-lysine aescinate and anticoagulants, it is necessary to adjust the dose of the latter (reduce the dose) and control the prothrombin index.
Plasma protein binding of escin is hampered by the simultaneous use of cephalosporin antibiotics, which can increase the concentration of free escin in the blood with the risk of side effects of the latter.

In America and many European countries, people experience frequent relapses of various forms of genital herpes. For its prevention, special additives based on L-lysine are used. More than twenty years ago, in these countries, they found a pattern that in those people who are on a certain diet, such relapses rarely occur. At the beginning of the 21st century, it was possible to find the cause of this phenomenon when amino acids were well studied. It turned out that lysine increases the time between these manifestations of herpes, so drugs such as "L-lysine" and "L-lysine aescinate" were created.
The action of lysine on herpes
Lysine is an amino acid with which protein is formed. There is a synthetic lysine used for the manufacture of food and animal feed.
The herpes virus, getting into the human body, begins to multiply. In order to build a new particle, the virus uses a cell. The amino acid arginine helps herpes build its viral particles in the body. L-lysine is very similar in its properties to arginine, therefore, mistaken, herpes begins to interact with it. The resulting viruses immediately die and reproduction stops.
When a person experiences severe stress, this amino acid in the cells is depleted and herpes begins its attack again. These people are more likely than others to have this problem.
Lysine in nature
Sources of this amino acid in nature:
- yogurt and all dairy products;
- fish products;
- pork;
- meat and egg whites;
- soy products;
- potatoes and lentils;
- cheese products;
- wheat germ.
With constant manifestations of herpes, it is necessary to use the drug "L-lysine".
All about the drug based on lysine
If you have been prescribed "L-lysine", the instructions for use of this drug will tell you in detail about its properties and use. This drug is a biologically active food supplement.
It is produced in capsules that contain 0.41 g of lysine, which is 22% of the daily intake.
Use it before meals inside, drinking plenty of water.
It is necessary to consult a doctor before using the drug "L-lysine". Instructions for use written in an accessible way. It is understandable to every patient who uses it.
"L-lysine aescinate". Indications and pharmacological properties
A wide range of applications exists for the drug "L-lysine aescinat", instructions for its use are written in an accessible language and understandable to everyone.
It relieves swelling, inflammation and has an analgesic effect on the body. This drug increases vascular tone and immunity, and also produces a hypoglycemic effect.
"L-lysine aescinat" is used to eliminate postoperative and post-traumatic swelling of the brain and spinal cord, pain syndromes of the trunk and spine, as well as venous circulatory disorders in the lower extremities.
Adults can use no more than 5-10 ml per day, it is diluted in a 0.9% solution for injection of sodium chloride. Enter only intravenously. If the patient is in serious condition, then the daily dose is increased to 10 ml several times a day. You can use it for no more than 8 days, depending on the effectiveness of the treatment.
- from a year to 5 years - 0.22 mg;
- from 5 to 10 years - 0.18 mg;
- from 10 and older - 0.15 mg.
Apply 2 times a day.
Urticaria and skin rash are possible with individual intolerance to escin in some patients.
Children under one year of the drug is prohibited. With serious violations of kidney function, it is not recommended to use it.
Release "L-lysine aescinate" in a package of 10 ampoules with 5 ml of injection.
Released only by prescription. Expiration date - two years from the date of issue.
These drugs can be purchased through online stores or in pharmacies in your city. For the drug "L-lysine" the price depends on the number of capsules in the package. It varies from 500 to 700 rubles and includes delivery within the city.
The effect of lysine on the whole body
This amino acid is considered a supplement, but so far it has not yet been fully studied. Drugs such as "L-lysine" only increase the period between recurrences of herpes, but in the future there may be drugs that will completely kill her.
Effects of using the supplement on a person:
- Increase in muscle mass and strength.
- Prevention of atherosclerosis and improvement of memory.
- Reduces the appearance of herpes on the lips and genitals.
- Helps to store calcium in the body.
- Strengthens hair and makes it thicker.
Many clinical studies have been conducted in different parts of the world. Lysine has been proven to be the best dietary supplement in the treatment of herpes and other viral diseases.
Complex soft tissue edemas that are difficult to localize, provoking point disturbances in the blood supply system and accompanied by pain, are a rather serious challenge for the pharmacological industry. Injuries of this kind are most often the result of surgical and postoperative interventions or the result of mechanical damage to the musculoskeletal system, part of the brain and / or spinal cord (voluminous hematomas, complications in the form of progressive swelling, etc.).
High-quality therapy and effective prevention of edematous pain syndrome is the "responsibility" of diuretics, glucocorticoids, flavonoids, ergot alkaloids, as well as medicines obtained from the fruits of ordinary horse chestnut. In the latter case, of particular interest is Lysina Aescinat, whose analogues, despite the similarity of the pharmacological action algorithm, sometimes cannot provide the necessary therapeutic effect.
The reaction of the body to the active substance
"Lysina aescinat" instructions for use classify as a multifunctional angioprotector. The components of the drug, reacting with the cells of the body, reduce the likelihood of developing large-scale inflammation, dampen the sensitivity of pain receptors and slow down the progress of swelling in the tissues (up to a complete stop of exudative processes).
This result is possible due to the inhibition of lysosomal hydrolases, which are responsible for the rate of breakdown of mucopolysaccharides inside the bloodstream and in adjacent connective tissues. Moderate hypoglycemic manifestations and a general increase in vascular tone against the background of normalization of their permeability are a natural result of the dosed use of this medication.
Indications for prescribing the drug
"Lysine aescinate" (the instruction presents it as one of the forms of a composite combination of horse chestnut triterpene saponins) is prescribed by prescription if:
- edema of the brain/spinal cord of a severe and critical degree of development was diagnosed (including when the presence of intracranial hematomas with displacement is confirmed);
- local edema of soft tissues was found, which affect the functioning of the musculoskeletal system (the patient experiences acute pain during movement / physical exertion, and damaged areas of the body are supplied with blood in an atypical mode);
- suspicions regarding acute thrombophlebitis were justified (there is an imbalance in the venous circulation of the legs, further aggravated by edematous and inflammatory processes).
The use of the drug implies unhurried (staging an intra-arterial dropper is strictly prohibited). The optimal daily dose for adults is 5-10 ml of the drug, diluted with 0.9% sodium chloride solution (NaCl volume - 15-50 ml). However, in cases of a real threat to the life of the patient (as a rule, with progressive ones, it is permissible to increase the daily norm to 20 ml of the active substance (two doses within 24 hours, 10 ml each). The maximum dose is 25 ml / day.
For pediatric patients "Lysine aescinat", the instruction predetermines to be administered in such quantities:
- child age 1-5 years: 0.22 mg per kilogram of body weight;
- age 5-10 years: 0.18 mg/kg;
- age 10-15 years: 0.15 mg of the drug per kg;
- age 15-18: 0.12 ml/kg.
The preparation of the active solution, that is, the dilution of the drug should be carried out immediately before use. The total duration of therapy should not exceed 8 days (the course can be reduced to two days if the attending physician considers that the patient's condition has stabilized before the specified time).
Results of clinical studies
"Lysina aescinat" is positioned by the instructions for use as a drug that has passed clinical trials and has demonstrated high efficiency in the fight against edema of various origins. Thus, in particular, in patients with a traumatic brain tumor, after the administration of the drug through a dropper, a significant reduction in the area of inflammation was observed. Along the way, the structure of the edema also changed: undamaged areas ceased to shrink, which contributed to the acceleration of pressure stabilization inside the cranium. It was also noted that timely injections of "Lysine aescinat", performed in the form of a smooth infusion with slow injection, often prevented the development of the above scenarios and had a positive effect on the patient's well-being.
The suppression of inflammatory reactions at the initial stage and the prevention of bulk swelling is reflected in the stimulation of the functional activity of the brain, that is, in minimizing the regression of nerve endings.
Special Terms of Use
Despite the fact that the reviews of specialized specialists about the drug "Lysina aescinat" are predominantly positive, there is no reliable information regarding the reaction of the active components to the fetus during pregnancy (the situation is similar with breastfeeding newborns). Therefore, it is not recommended to prescribe a drug in such cases.
In addition, special attention should be paid to patients with a diagnosis of "hepatocholecystitis" - escinat plays the role of a natural catalyst for transaminases and can slightly load the liver. However, in the absence of other pathologies, the indicated disease is not a reason for discontinuing the drug.
Side effects and contraindications
In addition to pregnancy and lactation, the instructions for use impose the following prescription restrictions on the drug "Lysina aescinat":
- individual intolerance to the components;
- serious problems in the liver;
- internal bleeding (ulcers or other forms of erosion of organs and tissues).
Under the above conditions, the drug occurs extremely rarely. And yet they are not excluded:
- skin covers: itching, urticaria, the formation of bright "blush" on the face;
- nervous system: tremor alternating with convulsions, acute persistent headaches, fainting;
- gastrointestinal tract: nausea, sometimes - diarrhea and vomiting;
- biliary system and liver: short-term increase in the activity of bilirubin and transaminases;
- blood vessels and heart: hypotension and hypertension, arrhythmia;
- respiratory organs: shortness of breath, severe dry cough.
Quite often, side effects are poorly expressed, which makes it difficult to diagnose allergies. For example, general weakness or fever may be perceived not as a result of intravenous administration of the drug, but as a consequence of a cold.
The nature of the interaction with other medicines
"Lysina aescinat" (patients' reviews of this medicine, as a rule, come down to the topic of complications in the work of the musculoskeletal system, since they cannot evaluate the therapeutic effect in case of brain injuries, due to the criticality of the situation) refers to alcohol-containing compounds. Therefore, it is necessary to select drugs for simultaneous use in course therapy with increased caution (alkaloids can neutralize active substances).
Contact of escinat with aminoglycosides is undesirable. The reason lies in the increased toxicity of the reagents. The presence of anticoagulants in the prescription makes it necessary to revise the dosage of the drug in the direction of reducing the daily norm. But the combination with analgesics and antimicrobial agents is going well (the anti-inflammatory properties of aescinate are enhanced against the background of the absence of additional stress on organs and systems).
Release form and description
Being a representative of the group of angioprotectors, the drug "L-lysine aescinat", reviews of which are sometimes subjective and do not reflect the real picture of what is happening, is produced in the form of a clear, colorless solution. In this case, 1 ml of liquid contains 0.001 g of the active substance. The role of auxiliary components is assigned to propylene glycol, ethyl alcohol and specially prepared (injection) water.
A brief overview of alternative drugs
The trade name of the described medicine is "Lysina aescinat".
Analogues similar in pharmacological action are presented below:
- "Furosemide" (tablets / solution)- the fight against edematous-pain syndrome in hereditary diseases of the cardiovascular system, the elimination of swelling in areas of the brain / spinal cord (hematomas of a mechanical nature of origin), stimulation of diuresis, etc.
- "Hypothiazid" (tablets)- with edema provoked by congenital heart failure, cirrhosis, hypertension.
- "Valusal" (tablets/capsules/cream/solution)- for localization and neutralization of musculoskeletal degenerative processes, relief of postoperative pain syndrome, etc.
"Lizina aescinat": reviews of doctors and patients
Edema of the interhemispheric tissues and swelling of the substance of the brain is evidence of a severe craniocerebral injury. According to experts, in such a situation, the structural displacement of areas of the cortex, which entails disability or death, is a matter of several hours, and sometimes minutes. To stabilize the situation, dehydration therapy is usually carried out. However, corticosteroids, saluretics and osmotics - the most common "tools" of influence - often provoke side effects or do not justify the hopes placed on them at all.
According to practicing neurosurgeons, Lysina Aescinat should become an alternative drug (instructions, expert reviews and important nuances regarding the method of using the drug are given above). Unlike analogues, the injection solution does not cause critical complications and accurately hits the target, thereby providing control over the dynamics of swelling (minimizes the amount of swelling of the brain/spinal cord).
